The history of our branch is connected with the history of the development of Shorinji Kempo in the USSR and in the Ukraine. (*information about the development of Shorinji Kempo in Ukraine can be found on the site of the Kita-Odessa Branch)

For a period of many years my family deals with the study of Japan and Japanese language (since1980.). From the first arrival of Endo Tsuguaki-sensei into Odessa (August 1983) my family is connected with the development of Shorinji Kempo in Odessa. It is below, brief chronology in 25 years of this development is represented. Besides represented unique photographic materials from the archive of the Migdalsky's family, represented photographic materials published for the first time.

Short chronology of development of Shorinji Kempo in Ukraine

 (1)   Prehistory: Shorinji Kempo in USSR

1.1 Meteshkin Yury Valentinovich - the first popular writer of Shorinji Kempo ideas in the USSR

1.2 The first arrival of Endo Tsuguaki sensei to Odessa (August, 1983)

1.3 Two performances in the Odessa Japanese club (summer 1988)

1.4 The first open set in group Shorinji Kempo at the Society of Friendship of the USSR-Japan (February - May, 1989)

1.5 Y.V.Meteshkin's first trip to Japan (December 1989)

1.6 First demonstration of Soviet kenshi in Japan (October 1990)

2.1 Y.V.Meteshkin's Second trip to Japan (autumn of 1991)

2.2 Registration of Odessa Branch Shorinji Kempo (November, 1991)

2.3 Second arrival Endo sensei to Odessa (1st arrival of delegation of Shorinji Kempo instructors of prefecture Kanagawa) (August, 1992)

2.4 Last arrival of Endo sensei to Odessa (2nd arrival of delegation of Shorinji Kempo instructors of prefecture Kanagawa) (August, 1994)

2.5 The first certification on 1st dan Shorinji Kempo in Odessa (October, 1996)

2.6 Untimely decease of Endo Tsuguaki sensei

2.7 Participation of representatives of the Odessa branch on celebrating of 50th Anniversary of Shorinji Kempo (September, 1997)

2.9 Arrival of Shirakawa Kenji sensei to Odessa

3.1 Opening of 3 new branches of Shorinji Kempo in Odessa (the first certification on 2nd dan, registration of branches)

3.2 First trip of group of Odessa kenshi for attending at spring study session at Hombu (Mart 2003)

3.3 Second trip of Migdalskyi Danyl to Japan (August 2003)

3.4 Second arrival of instructors from Hombu (2005)

3.5 Partisipation at Shorinji Kempo International Taikai in Fukui (september 2005) (passing of Chukenshi 3rd dan examination)

3.6 Closing of Odessa Сhuo branch, transfer of part of kenshi into Naraen branch

3.7 First East-European Instructors study session of Shorinji Kempo (May 2008)

3.8 Registration of "Odessa Kokudai" Branch (May 30, 2008), as a part of part kenshi of "Odessa Chuo" Branch
